Kyle Ukes is an operatic composer and librettist having obtained his BA in Music Composition and a Minor in Linguistics from the College of Creative Studies at UC Santa Barbara (2009), and a MM in Music Composition from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at Cal State Long Beach (2011). In 2017, Kyle was awarded an artist in residence to Helene Wurlitzer Foundation of New Mexico, premiered in both the Chamber Opera and Art Song Categories at the 2nd Annual Operation Opera Festival in 2022, and participated in the 2024 Austin Opera Festival. His career’s primary focus has been writing for the stage in order to convey shared stories and emotions within humanity with the hopes of establishing connections between peoples, cultures, and identities through theatrical works.
